Community Guidelines

elect.ng is a place to debate ideas, question candidates and protect the vote. These rules apply equally to every voter, candidate and party.

1. Debate ideas, not people. No hate speech or attacks based on ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or origin.
2. No violence. No threats, incitement or glorification of violence, including election violence.
3. No false voting information. Do not post false information about when, where or how to vote, or about voter eligibility.
4. No fake results. Never upload doctored, staged or reused result sheets. This leads to a permanent ban.
5. No vote buying or selling. Offering or requesting money or goods for votes is illegal.
6. Respect privacy. Never post anyone's VIN, phone number, home address or private documents.
7. No impersonation. Do not pretend to be INEC, a party, a candidate or any other person.
8. Label paid content. Paid political promotion must run through our ads system so it is labelled and archived.

Moderators may hide content, add context labels (Unverified, Disputed, Misleading, Manipulated media, Satire) or suspend accounts. Every moderation action is logged.
