INEC had promised to upload photos of polling unit result sheets to its IReV portal on election day. For the presidential election, uploads were delayed for many hours; INEC blamed a technical glitch.
Opposition parties said this undermined the result. The Supreme Court ruled in October 2023 that IReV is not part of the legal collation process, so the delay did not invalidate the election.
