The tribunal had deducted 165,663 votes from Yusuf’s total, ruling the ballots unstamped or unsigned, and declared the APC’s Nasir Gawuna the winner. The Court of Appeal agreed. On 12 January 2024 the Supreme Court reversed both judgments.
